Happy New Year!

Whilst I don't usually make resolutions, I do however want to get my daemon army finally painted, so I guess this is some sort of resolution after all!

2012 was an eventful year for me. I found a full time job in London working as a retail based art worker. It was an avenue that I hadn't experienced before, and I must admit, it was hard. Then in May I discovered that I was expecting my first child!

I haven't had the easiest of pregnancies (and if it were not for my friends flawless pregnancy I would question if any of them ever are) so between working, commuting for over an hour each way, feeling icky ... my hobbies took a back seat for most of the year.

Thankfully I am now on maternity leave (a little earlier than expected!) so I have some free time before the baby arrives in order to paint and get my skills back up to scratch. I don't expect to finish it all of course, but I am determined to get the majority done. Hopefully when she arrives and the hectic first weeks are starting to calm, I'll be able to continue. Ańa The Painting Mum just shows me that I can have children and keep up this hobby ;)

I think I will make one tiny promise to myself however. I need to stop over complicating paint schemes and just bloody paint lol. I think I have put myself off one too many times by wanting to try something different! Not ideal for a newbie painter.

I hope everyone else had a good festive period and saw the New Year in the way they wanted to. And all the very best for 2013!

Sarah/Hula =)

  1. Best of luck with the little one and the hobby time. I know mine took a nose dive when the wife had our first, but after the first 6 months, things settled down enough to get back into the swing of things. Looking forward to seeing all your daemons getting finished though :)
